With the SDK-kit on its way we can expect more mod news and previews soon ... one of the upcoming mods is Wheels of War. Kaos recently interviewed Colin ’Domipheus’ Riley, the project leader from this new Quake Wars modification.

This mod is based upon the base structure of Carmageddon.The main game idea:

There are several methods of ending a game which the server admin can choose from, but in the end it comes down to the player who has the most credits winning the trophy. You earn credits from passing checkpoints while racing, causing damage to other vehicles, performing stunts, killing the local zombies and also from power-ups which are scattered around the track. We don’t want people to sit idling for long periods of time, or to camp out waiting to attack, so we take a certain amount of credits off every player automatically every few seconds to ‘pay for’ fuel. You do not need to stop for refuelling, so you basically can go into negative credits if you camp and don’t try to play.
